Piping design
A proper piping design will help a system to operate safely, efficiently, and always under control.
In general, refrigerant piping should be designed and chosen so as to under take the following consideration:
1. The pipe must be of a material that will not corrode or react with the refrigerant.
2. The pipe size should not be so small that objectionable noise is generated due to high velocity.
3. The piping should ensure an adequate supply of refrigerant to all evaporators.
4. It should ensure positive and continuous return of oil to the compressor crankcase.
5. It should avoid excessive refrigerant pressure losses which unnecessary reduce the capacity and efficiency of the system.
6. Fittings and joints should be selected for installation and should be remain leak proof.
